ARP HEADSTUDS LEAKING?
I was just wondering if anybody had this problem with Arp Headstuds leaking. My Machine shop just finished my head and i was gonna go with arp for my headstuds and, then he told me he has had problems with them leaking, he told me to go with oem.
They also do something head studs don't, something like instead of pushing the head down, squeezing them. lol, I read it on there site somewhere about how it makes a difference.
Also, aren't they a lot more re-usable than headbolts?
You also get better torque loading
So you never heard of it causing a leaky headgasket I thought he was crazy when he said that but i was just wondering before i put this head on

Never heard of that. With so many people standing by them, I don't think that happens much. My machinist used to do work on "NASCAR" motors, and still works on circle trackers regularly; he uses ARP all the time. They should work beautifully for you.
The only reason they would leak is cause the head or block are warped. Or they didnt use the arp lube and properly tork it. I have had them for years and never a problem.
Yes, they stretch and let the head lift. I believe they revised them several years ago (like 00-01 era) but I've never had a problem out of OEM and I know several people making 500+whp on stock.
They're nice too because the head gasket fits perfectly before you put the head on.

I don't see how they can leak, maybe if they weren't torqued down correctly and it would let the head lift. Stock head bolts are notorious for that, especially if they're reused.
You should be fine, I have never heard of any horror stories unless it was installation error. Also, AEBS head studs are great.
