Default Piston rings, im doing something wrong

Hey pals, got a question.

So, i just finished doing rings on my sohc ZC.

1. OEM rings
2. I honed the cilynders with 220 grit stone hone
3. ARP studs and y8 gasket.

Put it all back together, and i guess i missed the whole "Break in motor hard" part. I decided to "take it easy"

After 160 km on it it was still puffing a little bit of blue(which i figured must be normal because the rings didnt seal yet), i discovered that the motor has to be driven HARD in order to break in properly.

So i drove it hard, going up the 2nd gear all the way and letting it drop down in gear, breaking with the motor. did that in third too.

After that i drove it for couple of weeks HARD,

There is 450 km on it and it still burns oil. Not much but it does, espesially when i shift down and i pull it. Or do i have to wait longer to see if it will seal up?

Did that happened because i didnt break it in properly?

What im thinking: before its to late, just redo the whole thing. Pull it all apart, hone it with 220(or should i go higher grit) again and put it back together and drive it HARD so it breaks in properly.

THE questions i got:

1. Can i reuse my brand new OEM rings? Just pull the pistons off, re-hone the cilynder walls and put it back together?
2. Reuse the same brand new headgasket?

Then break it in, drive it hard first 20 miles, change filter at 200 and then 500 and hope it will seal up properly.

Any advise or sugestions will be welcome, aparentley im still a noob at break in motors.

Thanks.

Misha, did you gap the rings and place them in the correct order, openings facing the right way? Yes you can re use your headgasket and rings, as long as the rings were done properly the first time, otherwise you are SOL and need to get new ones.

i did the seals last year and that didnt reduce any smoke, so that lead me to think it must be the rings.

I checked all the gaps and they were all within the correct alowed gap, so i didnt even had to touch them, but i did checked they all 3 times, haha. As for clocking i did by this diagram:

And all the grooves were correct im positive.
