GSR Differential Play
Hi, Im having a bit of a problem with my GSR transmission. Ive been getting a bad vibration at certain speeds which I thought was from shitty remanufactured Autozone axles. The inner passenger side CV joint kept busting and spitting grease everywhere. After further inspection I noticed when you grab the inner joint it quite a bit of play back and forth and up and down. I already bought a new axle from Raxles.com but after pulling out the old one I noticed that its the actual differential that has a wobble in it. Im sure this is not normal, so my question is, does this indicate the diff bearings are bad or is it the actual differential itself? Is there anything else it could be? Ive never torn down a tranny but after looking at a few threads im confident I could pull it apart and not screw it up too bad. This is something that I could do myself with a few specialty tools, correct?
Please help! Im pretty sure I need to replace the diff bearings. As im aware my trans (94 GSR) has the tapered bearings. Ive read that its worth it to upgrade them to the sealed ones but what bearings do I buy and what spacers do I need? I know ill also need to re-shim it.
im think im having the same problem too ....... i just bout new axles so it couldnt be dat so i made my man checked it out he said my diff is bad i aint listen to him so i drove it on the high way at low speed all of a sudden the car just pulled to the left hard
