Default no radio reception

Ok guys heres the issue. i thank you in advance.

i have an aftermarket headunit and the cd/aux work perfect. the radio portion, however, gets zero reception. what could be causing this? how do i fix it? sometimes when i get lucky i can play with the plug in the back or just all out shake it and it will come one beautifully for a few seconds..then fail. thank you.

Check to see if the antenna connection is firmly connected in the back of the head unit. It shouldn't be "stuck" in there but it shouldn't slip out easily.

Did you power up the blue wire on the aftermarket honda harness?

what does the blue wire connect to?

edit: went out to car...power antenna on the harness is wired up...i squeezed the connection a little bit to make sure it was tight, i can now hear just the slightest of reception, but still, a LOT of static. what does this mean?

the blue wire is the control lead to tell the power antenna to rise with in reception mode or radio.

Antenna box in the pillar??

I assume that it is not powered if it is in the pillar. Or does it have a amplified box?

Try holding the antenna itself and see if the radio reception gets better or hold a ground to the outer shield of the antenna jack in the back of the radio.

If not then i will assume that the single wire inside the coax cable have broken inside the wire(probably at the ant jack).
