Default will i still pass smog replacing my b16a3 bottom block to a b16a2 bottom block???

ok i got a CA barred b16a3 (1994 doch vtec del sol motor) in my 1993 honda civic. if i switch out my bottom block to a b16a2 bottom block w/ p30 piston and rods (jdm sir piston and rods), nippon racing piston rings, acl bearings, and arp rod bolts. i will be using my stock head and putting it back on this bottom block. my question is would i still pass smog with this bottom block in CA? since this would be on a usdm block not a jdm block just with jdm parts im assuming they wont be able to tell its the jdm piston and rods.

it all depends how rich you're running.... about 6 months ago, i got my friends ek bard with a b16A2 99 EM1 motor and then 2 months later replaced it with a rebuilt jdm b16a block with a ctr piston and it barely passed... smog techs dont check for that kinda stuff trust me, i do that chit all that time... if u cant pass then hit me up =]

my only concern is that if they read it as b16a2 they would say it's obd2 cuz my motor is ob1 right now being b16a3

Depends on the tech. Some techs are finnicky then others, Do you have a really good cat?
running a higher compression will raise the nox level.

wouldnt they put in the vin# from the bottom block? if they do then it would read that it is a different motor wouldnt it? yeah i found a muffler already thanks tho.

im not too worry about the cat if it's bad. i can just get another one and weld it on if that is the issue.

I passed smog in my car. Took me four tries though. Jdm itr pistons, 2 layer head gasket in a gsr. Tech just do a visual on the car and smogs it. Like integragsr said. They scan bar sticker and visual and smog.
