it'll bolt up doing worry. I have a JDM 4-1 itr header and a 2.5" test pipe bolted onto a ITR catback for daily use, so yours should work to.

If you're asking if it'll bolt up, it should. It'll just cause a bottle nose effect into your 2.25" apexi ws2 b pipe piping. I'm currently running the rmf narrow copy header (2.5") and a hollowed out jdm itr cat (2.5") which is connected to my apexi ws2 catback system as well. Of course if I wanted the most power out of my mods, I'd get a 2.5" exhaust system BUT living in CA, I don't want to draw any more attention.

2.36 is the ID, this exhaust and all of the other exhausts that are marketed as 60mm are (or can be considered depending on wall thickness) 2.5 inch exhausts, as metal tubing is measured by OD and wall size. So, with standard exhaust tubing being 16 gauge (.065) 2.5-(.065x2)=2.37, which when converted into milimeters is 60mm which when converted back is roughly 2.36. The K-teller and SMSP exhaust tubing kits that are marketed as 2.5(OD) inch have an ID of 2.37 like the majority of the aftermarket exhausts on the market.

Oh, so you got the HYtech replica, yeah then it's correct that it goes past the cat. You will probably have to cut the Tri flange off the exhaust and weld on a flange that will fit the header. But if theres a gap between the header flange and exhaust flange, you could make a tiny adapter like thing to make it fit.

i have a 99 gsr is there any other way to use this header without cutting or welding. I dont wanna mess up my cat back system like just buying an catback that is an 2.5 and will direct fit the header?

Does your catback go past the header mounted?

Get an after market 2.5 CAT, the weld on the correct flanges, and make it the right size.
