Ok i was driving to work today, and i felt like flooring it so i did, and i go and i shift into 2nd and i hear like a thump and i look behind me and i see my intake filter flew off i have a ebay CAI with a k&n filter. I went back to go get it, and the filter is all banged up like it looks like some one fat sat on it. and the pipe that makes it become CAI came out with it. And it is dented also. I wanted to know if that damage hurt me in hp, because if it did i will need to get a new one.

 

How bad the dent? I dont think it will do much damage to airflow. To avoid it happening again, you should turn it into a short ram ice box.

 

if the filter doesn't have any holes ripped from being banged up i guess it would be ok but i wouldn't use it, if the dent in the intake tube is big it could restrict ariflow.

the dent is on the edge it like curved in i dont have my camera right now, but it looks like a vase that is a full circle but the bottom is flat so that it can sit stable. The filter has no holes, but all the lumps on the intake are all like going everywhere. I woiuld love to do short ram but it dies on me in 3rd when i have a short ram its wierd.

and looks like if you got at least a AFC, it would probably fix that problem, but the better route would be a tune.

 

i really dont need a tune i got a stock ls with bolt ons. I ran a 14.1 and my friend tunes and he said $65 but i need to find a p28 ecu, he said i would be in the high mid-high 13's.
