Del Sol how many quarts of oil??
I have a 95 Del Sol Automatic. I've decided to start changing my own oil. I went out and picked up a new oil filter and a 5 quart jug of high mileage oil. The only problem is i dont know how many quarts my 95 auto Del Sol takes.
Thanks in advance

Sorry if this is too far off topic.
My '97 HX (D16Y5) only takes 3 qt. after an oil change. I drain it completely, change the filter, put in 3 qt. and start it up. Check it later and it's almost up to the top mark on the dipstick. That engine supposedly takes 3.5 qt. but I'm certain 3.5 would bring it well over the top dipstick mark.
Also the stick is only 1/2 qt. between the marks. That is, it needs 1/2 qt. to top off if reading at the lower mark. Is that standard for Civics? I'm used to seeing a full quart between the upper and lower dipstick marks.

Maybe somebody put a wrong dipstick in my car before I bought it.
3.8 qt. would definitely put it over the mark on mine.
I'm gonna have to get the Honda parts counter guy to look up part numbers and see if the different D-series take different sticks.

id call honda, if i were you.
I'm back to being stumped.
Today I measured the dipstick and compared to others in cars at the junkyard. Same stick as mine, with the two marker holes at the same locations. So my car doesn't seem to have a wrong dipstick swapped into it.
Before going I called the local Honda dealership parts counter. Apparently all the D-series engines '96-2000 took the same stick.
I'm going to let this question go for now. Looks like I've reached the limit of information I can gather. It's still possible that 1) the dipstick tube on my car is the wrong length, making the stick "land" at the wrong depth or 2) there's some weird junk in my oil pan taking up volume or 3) all the references are wrong and the '97 D16Y5 really does take only 3 qts. oil.
