Default Newbie Question: turbo install

I have a 1997 civic ex coupe and I am seriously considering a greddy or other pre made kit, and I was wondering how hard it is to install.

Does the kit come with good directions???

Also, what all is involved with the install?? I know that i will replace the exhaust manifold, but what else is there to do?? Wiring, hoses??

How long should it take for 3 guys with a pretty decent amount of car knowledge, one who can completely rebuild engines etc, and we have access to air tools.

Also, if there is anyone in the Minneapolis/St paul area who has done this before, and would be willing to help let me know!!

Me and my friend installed my Drag 3 kit on my 95 Civic and it took about 12 hours total. The reason it took so long is because I had to make constant trips to the speed shop and pep boys. We also didn't have instructions with the kit.

It took me and my father 11 hours to install the drag3 turbo kit. It was my first time, but i read about installing turbos for months. You will always run into problems, or get stumped on how to do something and it will take time. be patient. with three friends with knowledge and assuming they all work on it, i give 8 hours. What is involved? Taking out the exhaust manifold, removing the air intake system, running the piping, maybe installing fuel injectors, if you get greddy you have to wire/install the black box, i think. Good luck

Me and a buddy of mine put a Greddy kit onto my 97 Civic and it basically took an entire day. From 10am till 10pm. We had a lot of stupid problems that involved trips to Home Depot/Pep Boys. Read up before you get started and it should be a cinch. Check out www.turbocivic.net. Good luck.

My dad in I are 5 hours in to the install right now. So far:

Turbo mounted (Off right now, to cut crossmember)
Oil Pan tapped
Oil Lines Ran
Entire front end off to get ready to run IC piping tomorrow

I'm estimating 10 hours, either like 5 more tomorrow night or 3 tomorrow/2 Friday. Either way...Boost this weekend.

BTW, I'm installing a used Greddy kit, w/ no instructions other than:
