Default Air Intake Question

Hey guys, I got a bone stock Type-R and Im looking to upgrading the exhaust and intake and have a few questions. I got the blox velocity stack filter on order and was wondering

1) Would a short ram, or CAI perform better with the blox velocity stack filter

2) Would 3" make a big difference over 2.75"

The car is a nice weekend kinda car so Im not too concerned about hydrolocking.

Lets hear those opinions.

I just went from having an AEM CAI to a Samco Intake arm with Blox Velocity stack. I like it much better with the velocity stack. Blox one is nice because it has the filter that you can put on it too.

Why do you like it better? More responsive? More power?

I have no dyno results to prove it, but the throttle response is much better and it seems like its breathing much better without the CAI.

So the samco intake arm made 2 whp / 3wtq over the arc arm setup? And how much better than stock was the arc arm? So in your opinion samco is a good upgrade to the mugen setup?

If u cant afford a Mugen, Comptech is the way to go! ive tried the 3" AEM CAI, Samco with BPI velocity stack and K&N Filter. Then i went to comptech intake/icebox setup. feels so much better especially now that its summer here, it doesnt heat soak as much. Overall i found the comptech to be the better one out of everything ive listed. Just my experience.

Actually, the Samco was made specifically for ITR owners who use a Mugen intake.
