Default Hello

Just bought an 09 Civic LX Coupe

Coming from this:

First "mod" I want to do is some lowering and some flush wheels.

Can someone recommend springs/coilovers and a wheel size/offset for a flush setup with minimum gap between tire and chassis?

I got rid of the STI because I really don't drive too much anymore... (it's an old guy with kids thing )

you want somewhere around a 2"+ drop for minimum gap. i'd go 17x8 +32-35 for a nice flush look without rubbing or needing to roll your rear fenders, but since you use to own a STI im assuming you want to go as wide as possible so maybe a 17x9 +45. springs wont get you low enough, but you can pretty much go with any of the major coilover setups out right now. a lot of people seem to like the skunk2 pro-s.

Really.....so you dropped a 4-door car for a TWO-door coupe that you want to lower?

Thanks, i'll check out the Skunk coilovers. I'm not worried about going as wide as possible since I didn't buy this car for performance... I just hate wheel gap.

I may do some auto-x with it, but just for fun.

You really think I bought an STI because of practicality?...besides, they don't even make 2 door STIs or EVOs. The kids get to ride in the Armada...and since I hardly ever drive anymore having to pay for gas (93 only @ 16-18 mpg), insurance, and payments on the STI no longer made sense. I like to call it being sensible and responsible (also an older guy with kids thing ).

Some people do. Some people like having a car that is fun and exciting to drive and yet has the flexibility of hauling around the family with relative ease.

And by the way I wouldn't go with the Skunk coilovers if you're interested in having good ride comfort. They ride pretty stiff and are geared more towards performance than ride comfort. You can certainly get rid of the fender gap with them, but consider the trade-off. Some good lowering springs will maintain most of your ride comfort, but they won't totally eliminate the fender gap.

I'm well aware of that.
