a friend of mine was talking to me about exhaust cut outs that open and closes with a flap. has anyone ever dne this? where can i get a pipe with a opening and closing fla to do this?

i'm pretty sure you can get them from like, jcwhitney or something, possibly ebay. search around and you might just find what you are looking for.

You'd have to put this after the primary O2 sensor.

 

I have always wanted to get either a cable or electric cutout.Opening it up once your into your middle to high rpms should yield some hp, as well as an exhaust that'll have your ears bleeding.

 

I had the electric one on my '02 WRX and currently have one on my Supra Turbo. They sound freakin awesome! It just changes the way the car sounds and feels. It turns heads like you wouldn't believe. The coolest part is you go back to stock or whatever exhaust you have with a flip of the switch. You can see various sizes at the following link,
