Default Some boosted da question

So im putting my engine in my Da. and my friend has a turbo kit for 200 bucks :D
so im gonna use that... i dont have any way to tune it yet... so should i keep my stock injectors in it for a bit? or dsm 440's?
im planning on getting a tune within a week or two of having it boosted (safc)

2 red flags right away:

1. 200 dollar kit = garbage
2. safc = garbage!

I wouldn't even waste your time or money. Turbo costs a lot of money, as well as a lot more maintenance. I would not go that route, especially if you are thinking about tuning with an safc lol. That was what they did in the 90's....

He might be a good friend, but he wouldn't sell a 1k kit for 200 no matter how close you are. And running a turbo car off of an safc is very sketchy. At least get crome(free) and get a real tune on it if you want it to last. Just trying to help you out. If it was cheap to go turbo, 75% of this forum would be boosted. You gotta pay to play, and a 200 dollar kit tuned on an safc isn't gonna cut it for long..

I agree, its not worth messing with. We have done plenty of turbo kits in the past on Hondas, most dependable kits start at $1500 and up.

dude dont let these guys bash your 200 dollar deal.(dont want to start and argument) but as for keeping it on the stock injectors thats a no no. first of all as soon as you hit boost your going to throw a cel for map sensor reading the boost and your ecu not knowing how much fuel to throw at it. just wait untill you can get it tuned to put it on it will save you a lot of headaches. then put the dsm injectors in and have a decent tune put on it and you will be happy.

Does running a turbo motor off an safc not throw any red flags for you? I'm just trying to help the kid out so he isn't looking for a new longblock in the near future due to throwing a rod thru the block. The price you pay on a turbo kit is meaningless. It matters what kinda parts you get and their quality. No one is ripping him, we're trying to steer him clear of a mistake.

WOW!!! I would not run a safc on a stock car, let alone to tune one! That doesn't even qualify for being half assed. I dont even like chipping computers. I run AEM EMS!!! That is not the cheap way but more like the right way. And for a turbo kit for $200 (LOL) My wastegate cost more than that, but you get what you pay for. Hopefully "en00be" doesnt have to pay for a new engine soon. But if he does he might learn his lesson about being cheap!
