this guy sent me two busted *** axles. I didn't even check to see if they are even 36mm they probably aren't.. one axle had a two inch rip/cut I'm the boot. the other is disconnected at the joint. he had me paypal him $120, 100 for axles and 20 for shipping. I told him he needs to refund my money and that I'd ship them back at his expense and he claims I ruined them while trying to install them. first of all if that were the case, then why would both axles be ruined? plus my cousin is a certified mechanic and he's the one who was going to install them.. and he's going ruin both of them? give me a break you wanted a quick buck so you sent me your garbage. this is not intended to bash him, not that he doesn't deserve it.. his thread was something like "JDM ITR 36mm axles" and he said they were pulled off of his 98 jdm itr. I'd be suprised if he really owns a right hand drive type R. anyway, don't buy from him.. especially if he's trying to have you paypal it. I got my claim denied by paypal they told me to be more careful of scammers like him. he didn't describe the axles stating they were damaged in his ad, I assumed that he wouldn't send me garbage but I was wrong apparently. to those of you that know me in real life you know that I don't give a crap about no $120 but I do give a crap when someones trying to screw me over. it's not about the cash it's the principle. I spent well over $10k on building my ek just in the past 5 months and have sold quite a bit here as well. i will post pics of the damaged axles as soon as i can. be careful my fellow HTers
Here's the axle with the disconnected joint, looks like a limp noodle...

and the one with the cut/rip..

Seems weird to me he has been on H-T for quite a long time, im not taking sides with either of you just seems weird that some one that has been around for quite some time would tarnish their name over $120.....but you never know, sucks about the axels

im not sure what happened i havent talked to getaway about this but he is a good friend of mine and im positive that he did not intend to rip you off..

Inner joints only pop out like that when you yank on the axle too much. You can get the tripod back into the inner hub with some finesse- no big deal.
That little rip in the boot is either caused by shipping damage or opening up the box with a razor. Just go to napa, get a new boot, and replace it. I'm sure the seller will refund you the 15 bucks it will cost to reboot the joint. A "certified mechanic" should be able to reboot that in 5 minutes.

yea well i hope he makes it right too. he said let paypal decide whos right and whos wrong. but paypal already declined my refund request because he also declined. they said they only guarentee for ebay buyers. they pretty much let me know that item was poorly described. meaning, he didnt write what condition they were in at all. he just wrote that they are 36mm jdm itr axles. so its my fault for assuming that he wouldnt send me ripped, disconnected axles. they dont cover things that are poorly described. because he did in fact send me axles. the only thing i can do now is to figure out if they are really jdm 36mm axles cuz if they arent, they are grossly mis-described and are not what he was advertising. in this case, i may be able to get my money back from paypal. other than that im screwed unless getawayinmoscow wants to just make it right and refund my money himself. he thinks its weird that i waited 10 days to tell him that the axles were garbage. i only work on my car on saturdays and one saturday my painter was on vacation in vegas so I missed a week and went the week after. I have many witnesses for all this because i always have people helping me. they all saw the axles and they know I didnt even try putting them in. as a matter of fact all my knuckles and hubs are all garbage bagged up still so as not to get primer/paint on them. matter fact, take a look at my build thread. look at the date it was started.. look at all the money i spent on REAL jdm parts.. all the time that was invested. every saturday this has been my life. I did wire harness swap in the whole car, engine transplant, among many other things... and I cant put in a couple measly axles? also look at the long list of things ive sold in the past few months on my FS thread. both can be found in my signature.

Pictures show drivers side inner joint and passenger outer joint. ABS rings are only on outer joints....

You paid me via paypal on June 1st, I sent out the axles, which were both in great condition, June 2nd, I straight up told you they were insured and sent them via FedEx and PMed you the tracking number right away.
The axles were delivered June 3rd, you guys can see for yourselves. 479247810059279
You then filed a dispute with Paypal on June 14th (happy birthday to me), stating all this damage that was not there when I sent them to you.
Let me ask you this, if the axles were screwed up like you said, why wouldn't you file a claim or PM me right away? It sure as hell doesn't wouldn't take 11 days to figure out you got "scammed".
Also, if they were damaged during shipping, why would you again wait 11 days to tell me about it?
Just to set the record straight, the OP didn't even contact me to sort out the problem, he just submit a Paypal claim right away without even giving me a chance.
His claim got denied by Paypal because they, like me, think he is full of ****. I've been on H-T for 7 years now, I'm not about to scam anyone over $100.
I don't want to be the bad guy here, so OP I will offer to refund half your money, and you can either take it or leave it. The axles I sent you were fine, which means they were either damaged during shipping, or you ****ed them up. Either way next time try contacting me before filing a claim with paypal and trying to flame me on a forum you've been a part of for a year.

I didn't look at them until 11 days later that's why. I ASSUMED they were in good condition because you have 4,000+ posts. We already went over this. I work a lot so I'm only able to work on my car once in a while. When I got to my car last weekend, I put my gloves on and that's when I noticed the disconnected joint. Then I thought, maybe I can fix it and still use it... that's when I noticed the rip in the second one. You sent me TWO garbage axles buddy. I felt scammed. At this point I didn't even bother to see if they fit in my 36mm hubs. How could both axles get ruined during shipping? One gets disconnected and the other ripped? Through all that nice packaging work you did? No way. I didn't even attempt to put them in and my friends were there to witness. And about the PayPal dispute.. does it make a difference if I requested a refund through a PayPal dispute? No.. All I did was pretty much request a refund. And I DID contact you. You denied me of my refund saying I must have ruined them during install and to figure it out with PayPal. I thought PayPal would refund me regardless of your unwillingness to do so. PayPal did not deny me because they think I'm full of **** by the way. PayPal denied me because they don't cover non-eBay "Not as described" items. Meaning, you didn't state the condition of your axles in your ad. All you had was a vague, JDM 36mm ITR axles ad. So looking at your 4,000+ posts, I assumed they were in good working condition. So PayPal tells me to be more careful next time because there are a lot of people doing this sort of thing. So basically they said, sorry buddy you got scammed. And by the way, why the hell would I try to put in one axle, ruin it.. and then proceed to put in the other side and ruin that too. Also, why were you selling these axles in the first place? You supposedly sold me two good condition JDM 36mm axles from your RHD ITR. You upgrade to stage 2 axles? I am going to check this weekend when I go to my car and check to see if they are even 36mm. I wonder if you even own a RHD "98 JDM ITR" like you've mentioned before. You think I'm here to bash a good person over a mistake that I made? Lmfao.. over a $100 part too?? You want to act like that's nothing to you take a look at my build thread and look at the date it was posted.. Anyone can see I've spent over $10k easily in the past 5 months. If half my money is all you're willing to refund me then you must be pretty desperate for cash. Do what you gotta do to do playa.

I have a 98 spec JDM ITR swap. I used axles out of a Civic SI because I own a Civic EX.
Here is the EXACT ebay auction that I bought the swap from, if you look you can even see that I won it:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=220389699904
I never claimed that I had a 98 JDM ITR, just the swap.
I don't know how two axles get messed up. You just said yourself I did a good job packaging them, that's even more evidence to me that you are BSing me. Think about it, if I were trying to scam you, why would I even ship anything out to you in the first place?
I just looked at your build thread, the very first thing you say in it is "this is my first time building a car or even owning a honda.. always wanted to learn. got a lot of help from lots of people thanks to everyone.".
You've been here for 10 whopping months and you are trying to tell people I scammed you over $120? Please.
Also I would like to add if you were on vacation for all that time how come you had time to bump your for sale thread as well as you build thread. You had time to post on Honda-Tech but you didn't have 30 seconds to inspect a package you just got and personally signed for? I call BS

I don't remember exactly what your thread said but I'm pretty sure I didn't see anything about a civic. I remember it saying you pulled them from your 98 JDM R. If it was anything else, that's my bad then. Regardless, I still got sent garbage. Yeah I'm new to Hondas, so what? Like I said, I never even tried putting them in. I opened the package when I first received them and saw that they were axles. I didn't even take them out of the box. It's not like I was going to sit there and measure them with my ruler and see if they are 36mm right there on the spot. So what would have been the point? To check for rips and disconnected sockets? I assumed they were in good condition. And yes, you did package them nicely. I honestly have no clue why you packaged them so nicely when they are garbage. That's the only reason why I even considered giving you the benefit of doubt. Also, I never said I was on vacation. I said my painter was on vacation so I missed that week because all that needs to be done is paint and put in axles. My painter was there the week after though when I opened the package and saw me get pissed off because I got scammed. My car is not where I work/live. I only go to my car on Saturdays. Anyway, I've mentioned all this before. And yes I can post on HT all day long with my iPhone, what does that have to do with anything at all?? You can sit here and try to back up your story with all your credibility and what not, that's fine. Bottom line is, I am telling the truth. I got sent two very bad condition axles. You don't want to believe me saying that I ruined them when in fact I did NOT. Like I said man, do what you gotta do. It's not about the money. It's the principle.

Bottom line is the axles were good when I sent them to you. Whether you or Fed Ex screwed them up, I don't know.
Either way, you should have contacted me sooner about the situation. Like I said earlier, I am offering to refund you half the money, $60, no questions asked, which should be plenty to get those axles working for you regardless of if they were damaged by you, or in shipping.
You can even PM me if you don't want to post in this thread.
Edit: I reread your post, and you are correct, it was your painter who was on vacation. With that said, I still sent the axles to YOU, if you pull up the tracking number, YOU are the one that signed for them. That means you had the axles in your possesion at some point, period.

If you are telling me the truth, then FedEx ruined them and I would only ask that you pay for the replacement pieces. I was so pissed off that I didn't even check to see if they are 36mm. I figured you sent me some random garbage axles. When you refused to refund my money, I was sure I got scammed and wanted to let peeps know not to buy from you. Saturday I will check and see if they are 36mm and see what it will take to repair them. I sincerely apologize if I was rude (assuming you are telling the truth). In my defense though, I am also telling the truth. I definitely found it strange that busted axles were packaged so nicely. -_-;
Just so you know, the only reason I denied the claim is because Paypal only gives you the options to issue a refund, or deny, they don't give you the option to talk to the buyer, since I hadn't heard from you, I denied.
