Default Front End Problems

When I am going down the highway, my steering wheel starts to shake in my hands when I'm doing 60-70 MPH. I've had several people tell me several different things that might be wrong with the car, from it needing an alignment to the tie rods going bad. They're not mechanics or they don't own Hondas, si I'm bringing it to you guys. Please help, I have a trip in about two weeks to make to St. Louis from Cincinnati, and I don't want to spend my vacation budget on the car !!! Any thing out there ?

I have the same problem. I just came back from vacation and while driving on the highway above 65 the steering wheel vibrates/shakes. I'm thinking it could be the tie rod ends or it could be from the power steering because at those speeds the wheel is very sensitive due to the power steering.

Just take it for an alignment because they check things like wheel bearings, ball joints and tie rods before they align it.

it could be just the tires...they might be uneven or going bold. get some new tires and see what happens after that. if it still shake going at high speed then you have a missing component or bolt or your bearings are bad. but definity check your tires.

im a mechanic and you should start out by balancing your tires if that doesn't solve it the front tires could be seperated, you can solve that by rotating them to the rears or purchasing new ones. but from the your symptoms a balancing should solve it

I took the car for a tire balance and now the problem is gone. Could be the same for the OP. I should also mention that I had the tires rotated at the same time as well. That could have something to do with it because the front tires were slightly worn out on the inside.
