Okay, in one of my previous thread i asked what vtec controller should i go with. Well by the end of it all everyone told me how much of a mistake i would be making and i should with some sort of engine management system ie. Hondata, AEM, blah blah blah.
Well i took there advice and wiped the vtec controller from my thoughts and decided to go with a Hondata s200. But now i'm being told i couldve just went with UBERDATA Honda Hacking & Tuning. Now when i look at it i think there just chipping the ecu. Besides saving money, what are the pros n cons? Especially when compared to a Hondata s200 setup.
Before you ask my mods will consist of...
-JDM B16A1 SiR Obd1 Swap done
-Intake done
-Headers done
-CatBack done
Future Mods
-Cams
-Cam Gears
-Throttle Body
-Upgrade to a 1.8L Bottom end
-Underdrive pulley
-Valve Springs & Retainer
I'm gettin ready to deploy so im still in the planning stage. Any help is greatly apreciated.

also to add i think you will be better off sticking with the s200 set up just because of the capabilities... check it out on hondata.com... good info there.

well yeah take a look to see if that b18 crank wont run you into any problems... i went from a 2.2l to a 2.5l with the brian crower stroker kit. personally i would stick with the hondata because what i think is that this guy is trying to sell some stuff and make profit off that or something.... do some research on the uberdata. never heard of that.
Your still in the early stages of your build. If I were you I would stick with something thats proven like the Hondata. s200's don't cost much anyway but the tuning is where your gonna spend the big $.
Trending Topics
well different shops charge differently... some charge 350 base price and and 50 to adjust gears if adjustable... then others charge 300 base and then 100 by the hours.. its really all about what you wanna get done to your car... for turbo set ups its a bit more.
You are looking at this the wrong way, unless you are planning on learning all the ins and outs of tuning and tuning this youself, you need to find a tuner with a very good reputation in your area ask around see who the "big dawgs" are using to tune their stuff. Talk to that guy find out what he is comfortable using, some perfer Uberdata, some like Crome and some will tell you to buy Hondata or you could spend a grip and get AEM
im trying hard to search but cant find the answer...
What do I need to setup Hondata on my car?
chipped p28
the unit itself
conversion harness
and then what? Am i gonna need Moates?

IF you want to be able to tune yourself and make changes, then just get the s300 as it will be cyeaper and easier to use than the s200 and also has many more options.

I've been askin around and the two closest place i can find is in Nashville and Murfeesboro, TN. I'm station at Ft Campbell, KY and the people here really dont do to much tuning or there more into show not go. Its so bad here the the people wit the show cars are the ones who meet up at the 1/8 mile track and then get there *** whooped by a evo, sti or some muscle car. I've talked to a few guy wit hondas here and there the ones the told me about Uberdata. The guy that did my swap is the on that told me to go with Hondata and where waitin to find out about a tuning shop in Louisville, KY. I'm probably gonna go with the s200 or s300 from Hondata but i thought i would get yalls opinion. I'm gettin ready to deploy Aug 1st so i'm tryin to get things setup while im gone.
