Default 1996 civic dies at stops. please help

have a 96 civic it dies at stops. it doesnt do it all the time just at random. sometimes it jerks and shakes too. the car seems to have a loss of power and burns alot more fuel. we ran a scanner on the car pulled the o2 censor and cat . both have been replaced the code still comes back, car still dies. the car seems to rev way to high before shifting also . what could it be?

its the Automatic solenoid. Its going bad and thats why its happening. Well at minimum its the solenoid. you might have to need a whole new tranny. Either way they arent really expensive.

The poor mileage is due to the O2 sensor and possibly the cat codes. Have you checked the O2 sensor wiring and for exhaust leaks?

if your getting bad gas mileage you gotta get a tune up. you could try sparkplug, wire, oil and filter and dizzy rotor. make it run a lil better. check on your cat and o2 too

ya but is problem is not only the gas mileage, its dieing at lights and shifting very high. These are signs that the internals of the transmission are dieing.
