Ok so I was reading about someone saying that it wasnt an o2 sensor that was bad it was the cat. When I bought my car the guy told me that it was the exhaust doughnut (the car starts to rattle randomly while driving, comes from underneath). My friend told me that it was something with the cat like the heat shield or the cat could just be fucked up. How would I go about seeing what the problem is. The diagnostics says its the o2 sensor but if its the cat then i'd go about getting that fixed.

I think he said it rattles and ****. Get under the car and check the heatshields around the cat. See if they're loose. If they are, remove them. They suck.

If you have a CEL and you've had it checked, and it comes back that you have a bad O2 sensor, I would say you do. Last time I checked, O2 sensors didn't rattle if they were bad.
