Hey i have a z6 swaped rex that wont start, it cranks and seems like it cranks normal speed. It has new altenater, new starter, checked and replaced main relay, replaced distributer with known working one and new igniter, all voltage drops to starter and altenater check out good. Another problem is that when i get to about 5000rpm it starts misfiring bad, feels like vtec is engaging. i was wondering if maybe a bad ground might cause ethier of these problems. thanks in advance. i forgot to menction that i can pop start and runs fine except for the misfire

Throwing codes? Sounds like ignition problems.

 

Make sure you plug wires are going to the right spark plug. Timing order is crucial.

 

What Tommygee said. I would make sure the spark plugs were in right order.

 

ill check codes today, ive checked wires and there good but ill double check.

 

check your timing while you rev it see if it advances while you rev could be wiring problem with distributer wired wrong also
