its not over lol. now everytime i turn my car off the radio loses memory??? wth!!! but my lights work lol. now i have to sacrifice something lol
the yellow wire isn't hooked up to a constant 12v source.
make this easier...
you know how to hook up power to a stereo, right?
from the stereo, there is 2 power cords, or there should be. a 12v yellow constant power, a red 12v aux power. oh, and a ground.
12v yellow hooks up to a wire that always has power, even when the car is off (aka, cigarette lighter is what i used, in my 88)
12v red hooks up to a wire that only has power when the key is in the 1 or 2 position, not in the off position. (cigarette lighter in the 90+)
get your volt meter out and test some wires...

thats how i had it at first. when it was like like that i kept poping the instrument cluster light fuse. im using the 12v constant from the cig lighter and kant find any other 12v constant n the bundle . what could i do?
there should be one in the fuse box, an un-used slot.
or else, connect your volt-meter up to a ground, and just test a few wires in the bundle of wires that are for the stereo.
i used the second method... i even got an oem honda radio to work eventually.
also, i don't think i ever used the "illumination" wire on any deck i own... it is not hooked up to anything. it isn't needed in our older cars.
