Problems with 99 Civic, D15z1 motor inside, what dizzy to use??
I currently have a 99 civic with a d15z1, im trying to use the d16y7 dizzy but its not working, any ideas? should i use the d15z1 dizzy and repin to obd1. or should the y7 dizzy work?
Only the distributor from a Z1 or a D16Z6 will physically bolt right up to the head. You should be able to just swap the innards of the Y7 distributor into the Z1 distributor (if you have it). That way it bolts up and you have the correct plug.
I need a obd2 dizzy, the y7 dizzy bolts up fine, but wont start the car, the plug i need is obd2 plug. what dizzy should i buy or put together?
The Y7 distributor should not be bolting right up to the D15Z1 head; the bolt pattern should be different. Are you sure that it's bolting up to all 3 holes? If it is, are you sure it's a D15Z1 and not a D15B7? If it is indeed a Z1, are you sure it's a Y7 distributor that you're bolting up to it?

using the y7 dizzy on a d15z1 long block, 2 bolts line up on the dizzy & head, shouldnt the car still start? or do i have to get a z1 dizzy???

As long as its in the right place it should still start, but you wont be able to set the ignition timing properly without using a Z6/Z1 distributor case.
