i have been putting together my recovered theft 98 db8 for a while now. it has a obd1 ls in it. i been runnning it on an auto p75 ecu. the motor ran fine, but threw a code for auto tranny comp. i needed to go get a new inspection sticker so i swaped in my sister p2e dx ecu. i ran it for about 40 highway miles to work. it seemed kinda jerky. then when i came out of work the car wouldent idle. to keep it runnnig i had to tighten up the throttle cable a little. i couldent get the idle screw on the throttle body to move. anywas in my way home i hit some traffic. the motor was racing too much and i smelt some plastic burning. i pulled over and turned down the throttle cable. now the car just runs like ****. it sounds like a subaru. i def have a miss somewhere. i pulled the spark plags out and there was oil on them on the threads, but not on the bottom where the compression chamber is. i compression checked the motor and the first and second cylenders i got 130. then the third i got zero. then the fourth was 130 but then went to zero. so i went back to the 3rd and it went from 0 to 130.
what can cause a loss in compression to switch from one cylender to another. i got my b16 head ready to go on anyways, just hoping i dident ruin the block

sounds like you might have a bent som valves its ok to drrive in on the dx ecu. pour a cap full of oil in the cyl. if you compression gets better then rings are bad it it stays the same then the head is the issue
I'm guessing you ran it lean, now your rings are bad or you may have burnt some exhaust valves. A compression and leakdown test should be performed by a mechanic or a competent individual to properly diagnose the issue(s). Good luck.

well i am not getting any smoke out the exhaust and there is no oil leaking into the compression champer. i am going to try to find a leak down tester.

i been tinkering with it a little and still not 100 percent sure what the problem is. i though maybe my cat was colgged. when i drive it feels like the motor cant breath. i unhooked my exhaust but it was so loud i couldent tell anything. i did few compression test yesterday and i got 190psi across the board each time. the engine dosent overheat but it seem like the engine bay temperatures are extreemly high.
