Default tach not working...help please

i have a 95 del sol si. i swapped in a 2000 ls. evrthing went smooth cept since ive done the swap, the tach hasnt worked. any ideas on how to check if its the tach itself or just getting a bad reading? or any ways around it

I don't know whether the 00 LS is the same, but 99-00 Civics get the tach signal on a blue wire from the ECU rather than from the ICM in the distributor.

Also check the brown wires on the tach. Might have to cut one to get the read. I know it sounds weird but check the specs on your tach. That might be it.

or wire a signal wire from ur dizzy to ur tach wire on the cluster plug and tap or splice it in. should be golden. if not then the clusters prob bad.

well i havent touched this post or even looked under my hood for a while, but now i cant tune without a tach. i saw that the blue wire from the distributor (rpm signal), when plugged into the harness, theres nothing on the other side of it. does anybody know what color the rpm signal is on the 95 del sol si wiring harness so i can just splice it and get a signal?

usually when tach is not working it's you vehicle speed sensor(VSS).

if VSS is not working...then it means speedo doesn't work either right?

I have a 96 dx with GSR swap. I have speedo but no tach either
