How much driving can I do using a phearable base map b4 tuned?
So I am going to be building my turbo b16 in wisconson, and I will have phearable.net chip my ecu with their base map. They say the base map is based off of dyno, street tuned similar setup. But I want to drive it to north carolina where I am stationed and have it tuned there. Can my del sol on a base map safely be driven 1600 miles in a few days plus extra short trips for a month or two until I have the cheese to get it tuned?
Thanks
Thanks
It could last one pull, or it could last years. It depends on how good it is. Try and find someone in your area who does street tuning and let them check it out to at least make sure it is driving safe. Otherwise put in stock ecu, injectors, etc and disconnect wastegate. If you absolutely want to drive on the basemap, take it easy, and don't boost.
When are you looking at doing this. and where are you located?? I am going to be in MN this summer and going to chicago a few times, i could maybe help you out.

i had pretty good experience with phearable.net basemap,
but my set-up was nearly stock, so it's not as risky to loose my set-up as if your risking on your turbo build. Remember you are taking a risk, im sure it'll start and run, but racing it would not be a good idea until u tune it.

If you're around the Waukesha area (SE), I could help with a street tune, or at least tell you what your AFR's are throughout the RPM/boost range. As for your current chip, if you have a narrowband O2 sensor that is functioning (not disabled in the chip), you can drive w/o boosting for a long time. However, if you intend to hammer on it, it may not last long at all. If pherable was as little as 10% off, your tune will be off by over 1 AFR point - bringing 12.5:1 up to almost 14:1. That's extremely unsafe, especially for a stock motor.
