Default base map before tune drivability

I ordered a chipped ecu with a base map for my turbo b16 setup from phearable. Also I have a wideband and gauge. Will the wideband reading tell me if I am in need to get a tune? If the wideband reading is stotch, under all rpm/ boost levels then I am assuming I could hold off on getting a tune. Or am I was wrong?

Default Re: base map before tune drivability

a buddy of mine raped his stock d16 on 11 psi for a couple years on a basemap before breaking a rod, lol. i would take the car to the dyno and get it tuned. i think i paid around 200 the last time i went. and that was for a motor map and a nitrous map. you cant beat more power and reliability for only a couple hundred bucks.
