Rotor gone bad?
last year i bought brembo blank all around with Axxis/PBR. it has been a month or so that i started hearing a screeching noise coming from the front brakes. I got them checked and the guy told me that i need to replace the rotors and the pads. He said the rotor cant be shaved because there is Hook on around the rotor (see pic). Can i just change the pads or do i need to buy rotors also. Thanks

are the axis/pbr pads ceramic or semi metallic..
when i was having bad screeching/grinding problems, i switched over to ceramic pads (wagner thermoquiet and edge to be precise) and it solved that problem for me..
not sayin this is def. the case with you, but definitely a consideration

i think they were PBR Ultimate Ceramic, that was my plan but the guy said that the rotors also need to be change because of the hook around the rotor.

the "hook" isn't the issue, what scraps a rotor is being below minimum thickness at the lowest point. if you mic the rotor at the low spot just inside the "hook" you should get your minimum. if it's below spec. or too close (refer to your repair/service manual or search the site here for that spec.) then you can't have them turned, so you need new ones.
but if i'm reading right, this is the end of the first set of pads you've run on new rotors? there is almost no way they are too thin. i'd take it to a shop that has the appropriate equipment...

oh... and yes, you need to have them turned in order to put new pads on.

took it to another guy and he told me the same thing but also that my caliper are bad. Seems like there are heat spots on the rotors and that my calpers need to be rebuild. also the rotors are way under spec. can i buy a rebuild kit and so this or is it better to to get another caliper
