Default Anyone else notice a huge difference in acceleration with just one passenger

I had a ~200lbs passenger with me in my turbo F22 Civic and I wanted to demonstrate what the car can do.... and it was seriously not even close to how it pulls with just me in the car.
This may sound ridiculous but if only 200lbs(maybe a little more) makes such a big difference, I am willing to gut the car completely lol to make it more fun.

Yeah, it makes a difference for sure, the only time my car feels the same is when i have like a 120lb chick in the car, but anytime a guy is in the car and most of my friends are 180-280lb its a good difference.

But remember it always feels faster in the passenger seat

I put my ls/v turbo from my dc4 into a 93 civic coupe. The coupe is about 240lbs lighter than the teg was....and I can definitely feel the difference.

spins tire through almost all of 3rd gear in the civic....teg didn't do that.

that's a suspension issue.. obviously the DC had better traction due to more weight and other factors.

Two concepts. Power-to-weight and Torque-to-weight ratio. Google them. Learn them.

I don't make much power though so I am sure that is why I felt such a big difference

yea, I just never noticed that it makes such a big difference!
In fact I think the difference in acceleration isn't as noticeable with a naturally aspirated F/H series... I may be wrong but sure feels like it.

Thats what i try and tell these evo guys (3250lb) that think there car is crazy fast with 400-450whp, sure that's great and really fun but its still not gonna be faster than my civic at 2260lbs and 333whp.

I used the DC2 suspension on the civic....so it was actually a little stiffer considering the civic was lighter, and the spring rate was for the teg....so wouldnt that actually force more traction on the front wheels?

My two favorite quotes from Colin Chapman.

"Adding power makes you faster on the straights. Subtracting weight makes you faster everywhere."

"Simplicate, then add lightness."

Yeah it for sure makes a huge difference. As said above the only time I don't really notice it that much is if I have a 100-120lb chick in the car.

I had a 120lb girl in my car like 2 weeks ago along with a buddy that is like 210 in my backseat so that was a total of 330lbs extra in my car when its just usually me at 165lbs. And damn..it sucked. It was so slow I was disgusted. Ain't like its fast in the first place.

Just an EG with LS Engine and GSR tranny.

Did some high speed runs in my GSR coupe with a 260lb passenger and it felt sluggish...
