Icon6 99 civic si automatic

hi, im new th this site.

but i ahve a problem, my right rear outside brake light isnt working, i replaced with new bulb and still didnt work

what should i do next?

A answer would be appreciated

Check the brake fuse (not sure which one it is off hand) and the wiring for shorts.

thanks for the reply. i checked the fuse for brake lights it was fine.
for the wiring do i need a test lamp? and were do i start at the wiring?

If its only one side which does not light up any more, problem might be the wiring.
Use the test lamp where the socket is at and if it does not light up , you mights have to go deeper to fin were the wire is harmed..

i put a test lamp to the socket and it didnt light up, so i got a wiring problem
where do i go next to frind the problem?

The brake lights get power through the Grn/Wht wire and are grounded through the Blk wire. The taillights ground through the same Blk wire, so if it was bad, then the right taillight would also not work. Therefore, test for battery voltage to body ground on the Grn/Wht wire at the rear of the bulb socket while a friend is pushing down on the brake pedal. If battery voltage is detected, inspect the bulb socket for damage. If not, trace the Grn/Wht wire back looking for a break.
