hi guys

i need some undercar pics of your 3" exhaust systems on your turbo dc2's.. i have bought a tig welder and im going to make my own system by buying the necessary piping and bends.

in particular i need pics of the exhaust where it goes over the rear axle.

the next question is sound, i know a turbo acts as a muffler and will make the exhaust noise quieter than it would be on an n/a motor, but the idea is to have a 3" pipe from the turbo all the way to the rear of the car exiting out the back like normal, with no rear muffler, but 1 or 2 resonator's half way down the system.. kinda like the buddyclub below



anyways, would apreciate some pics if you guys have got some

Ill tell you this. I though the turbo would "quiet" the exhaust down too but thats major b.s. When my dp is open its crazy loud. Also the car will sound horrible without a real muffler. With 3" pipping is gonna sound really poppy and nasty. I know cause mine is 3" all the way back with just a small resonator (didnt finish it yet) and doesnt have a muffler. Its super loud out the back too.

 

i dont want it to sound ricer thats all. i want it to have that turbo burrble similar to this..

This is something I also have to do, However I wanna retain ac and power steering, and still use a 3 inch downpipe, i can see I'll have some fabricating to do.

 

Really? My GSR has 3in mandrel to a Apexi turbo muffler and no cat and a small resonator it sounds so nice, I really dought its louder than 80db


If you think your car is loud open dump? Try pulling the turbo off and put a header, then it will be loud.

When I first turboed my car i drove around for 7,000 miles 6 Months or so to save money to buy exhaust and never got messed with haha but thats also lucky!

lol yeah i think the sound will be ok, il start with one resonator, if it is mega loud i can always add another.

il be running an AFI turbo kit with 3" downpipe and a/c removed but still using p/s as i cant sacrafice that LOL

I have a 3" turbo back with a 18" resonator, summit 12" glasspak and a vibrant muffler. No cat. Its perfect. Also have a cutout for the track. you dont wanna see pics of the muffler though, there pretty hideous welds.

 

I'll try and get some pics up of my exhaust. It's 3" from turbo back with a magnaflow 18" resonator and a magnaflow muffler. Sounds really nice and the muffler looks similar to a Apexi World Sport, no 4" can for me! lol
