youll probably need custom motor mounts and a load of other bullshit. im not dissing you or anything, but if you want to sink money into making a car fast, why not fork out the extra dough and get a car that has parts readily available for modding it out? its cheaper and less of a pain in the *** in the long run if you think about it...

If you want to put an bigger engine into an old Prelude,I would rather buy an 3.gen and put in an H22A..becous it allready is parts for this conversion on the market.

I`m going to do this conversion this year or next.

I'm not sure why you would want to use a B18C. Nevermind the rationale of invetsing such a large amount of money in a 16 year old car...

Why would you choose a B18C over an H22A? The H22A swap has 20-30hp and lb.ft. more, and costs several hundred dollars less than a B18c1 right now...

IMO still a waste...if another guy with your same car w/a h22 revved on you....you just wasted almost 2k if thats what you call originality

h22a=200hp so why 2k for 20 less hp? the type-r is not what makes the car fast. its the weight of the car (no sound deadning material whatsoever) and the suspension set up it comes with that makes the type - r own.

Interesting math floating around here....

b18c5 swap (not including labor etc) $4800
H22a (not including labor etc)$2400 add $300 for an LSD

b18c5 approximately 195hp 132ft/lbs(I may be alittle off with the torque number)
H22a approximately 200hp and 158ft/lbs

Why pay more to get less?

from what i people have told is that the h22a is a heavy motor and will mess up the weight balance of the car and make it handle like crap i wanna have a car that handles good as well i'm not building it for the strip

hey guys, if he wants to slap a type r motor into his prelude then let him. it is his car, he can do whatever the hell he wants to. and besides, he doesn't have to pay the 4800 bucks for an integra motor if he gets one from an auction or salvage yard that has been wrecked. as long as the motor works he has everything he needs.

this is a forum for preludes. he has a prelude. he has stated what he wants to do with that prelude. just because it is not an h22 doesn't mean he is doing something wrong. give him a break. it has been stated once that the motor of choice is not what most people would do. oh well. give it a rest.
