Re: Frist Motor swap (crxgator)
i think h22a is a cheaper swap than b18c...
[my .02]
gsr is best bang for buck
type-r is overpriced (and if boost is an option you've got more compression to worry about)
b16 is too small (and you want stock Si's to run with you??)
b20 is alright but no vtec
b20vtech is kinda pricey, but #2 on the list
h22 is too expensive to install

Re: Frist Motor swap (turbocr-x)
get a GSR in my opinion...
if you dont wanna spend much money and just want an OK swap with a stronger vtec...Id go with the B16a2...A little cheaper than the GSR and still has a bit more power than stock...
Id still save for the GSR though..
good luck

My fav swap is a C5 and a Black valve cover. Less worries.
But, 1.8L VTEC or go home.
H22 is nice but will cost as much as a C5 done properly. I.E. mounts = 650, axles = 300 and labor is stupid. All that for 150 ft-lbs. Nah.

Re: Frist Motor swap (slammed_93_hatch)
H22 all the way! Its not as bad as some say it is and the HP is well worth it.
or
the Si you have now is not to shabby, Id look at getting a turbo.
