here we go....h22 vs. bxx thread # 3457348534598

[my .02]
gsr is best bang for buck
type-r is overpriced (and if boost is an option you've got more compression to worry about)
b16 is too small (and you want stock Si's to run with you??)
b20 is alright but no vtec
b20vtech is kinda pricey, but #2 on the list
h22 is too expensive to install

get a GSR in my opinion...

if you dont wanna spend much money and just want an OK swap with a stronger vtec...Id go with the B16a2...A little cheaper than the GSR and still has a bit more power than stock...

Id still save for the GSR though..
good luck

I almost agree.
My fav swap is a C5 and a Black valve cover. Less worries.
But, 1.8L VTEC or go home.
H22 is nice but will cost as much as a C5 done properly. I.E. mounts = 650, axles = 300 and labor is stupid. All that for 150 ft-lbs. Nah.

how is a h22a more expensive to install than a b18c1...

JDM H22A:
engine/tranny/ecu-$2200
mounts- $550
total- $2750 and has more hp and torque

JDM B18C:
engine/tranny/ecu- $3150

add about $300 to make a wiring harness that is close as OEM as u can get...I think place racing does this...$3050 PLUS shipping rite there. With the H22 your getting a lot of power but it is not a whole lot cheaper than a GSR.
