Timing Belt Hummmmmm...
Water pump and timing belt tensioner bearings can wear prematurely. Cam journals could also show signs of premature wear. Probably a few other things. The belt is also pulling harder on the crank so I would venture a guess that the main bearings could possibly be effected. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on this.
It's hard on da timing belt, cam journals, and cam tunnel.
Proper Tension
Timing belt should be "springy" (not mad tite or loose) on all sides [(1) front; (2) top, above da gears; (3) back, above da H2O pump; (4) back, between da pump and tensioner; (5) back, between da tensioner and crank gear].
