Best Piston for Street/Strip Turbo LS/Vtec
Hi all
Are there any preferences on brand of piston for a street/strip Turbo 84mm LS/Vtec 550 - 600 whp ??
The reason I ask is that I know different Piston manufacturers have different Silicon content in their pistons.
According to the article Ross and Arias have the least Silicon, meaning they expand the most and require the biggest piston to wall clearences.
Whereas Wiseco,JUN, JE have more Silicon and can be run with tighter clearances.
On a setup that is not an all out race motor - would the higher silicon piston like a Wiseco be preferable to a low silicon piston like Ross ??
Where would CP fall - low like Ross or high like Wiseco - and what are the specified clearance differences between the popular brands ??
