Icon6 EP3 water pump question

This morning while I was driving to work my car started smoking, So I pulled over and popped my hood and as the motor is running radiator fluid is shooting out the side of the engine, the side where all of the pulleys are.

So I am assuming that my water pump is bad, so my question is how hard is it to change it? Do you have to drop the whole motor? How much would it cost at Honda or a shop to replace the water pump?

It's not that hard actually. Just akward. Just pull the belt off, drain the coolant, jack the car up and start wrenching. Should be able to get all the 10mm bolts from the bottom.

was the fliud coming from the water pump or the overflow tank, or a loose hose? I would blame the theromstat before the water pump.

^^ x2, seems weird the pump would fail and just start leaking.

No it was definitely the water pump. The fluid was shooting strait out the side of the motor, it was actually kind of funny. Got it fixed already bought a new water pump from Honda and had a buddy install it while I was at work.
