The other day I was driving down the turnpike and my CEL came on. I got it scanned and it read VTEC System Malfunction. It happened at about 98 mph. After it came on the car was in limp mode. I'm curious on what could cause this problem. Thanks in advance for the help.

 

Is the engine oil low?

Also check the screen in the VTEC solenoid. It may be clogged.

 

It was right after i changed my oil and I checked the screen it was not clogged. But thanks for the suggestion.

 

why were you doing 98mph on the turn pike?

try switching another solinoid in and see if thats the problem.
