first of all, just to make sure, does a 97 honda civic cx hatchback have power steering? im pretty sure mine had it at first then slowly, it felt like the power steering was disappearing...now it's like manual steering. my friend thinks it might just be the fluid that needs replacing, he's saying that if it's the belt, we would have heard it...im trying to locate where the reservoir is so i can try to change it...ive tried searching here but no luck...

any tips, DIY's on this? i'd appreciate any help...

it should be on the driver side in front of the strut tower should have a red cap, and there should be a pump mounted on the block right next to it. But I'm pretty sure the cx doesn't have it.

 

Pretty sure that you don't have it.

 

I think Trust is right. Check whether your front tire pressure is low.

 

thanks...yeah upon closer inspection, i dont think i found a reservoir for PS fluid...so i probably dont have it...actually, i have a 98 dx ek too, lol i should've checked that to see the difference...ill do it tomorrow...

cx I'm not to sure but they're the base model so...

 

96-98 CX did not have: AC, PS, rear hatch wiper
DX did have AC, PS, and rear hatch wiper. Mine actually came with an optional HOP alarm and cd/cassette player.

Neither had power windows or power locks.

 

Wierd? theres one sitting in my shop that has PS... (canadian CX though) its a 96.
