Question on 02 sensor
recently iv had some work done on my car, i have a check engine light on and the guy that's doing the work says its my 02 sensors. He also says that even if i get new ones, they may go out in a month from all the "performance" parts. i really only have like cold air intake and a chipped ECU. I'm new to cars and am not sure what to do? will not having a 02 sensor effect my driving? is there certain 02 sensors that are made for this?
If the mechanic is saying you have a lot of performance parts what is he referring too? I mean a cold air intake isn't what I would call "a lot" of performance parts. Be exact. What exactly have you done to your car? What has been done to your car by other people?
If your O2 sensors are going bad before they have 60k-100k miles on them there is something wrong with the engine, ECU, or electrical wiring. O2 sensors are the backbone to the ECU tuning of the car. Without it and the MAP/MAF sensor your ECU will have a huge problem with making the car run properly.
