Default O2 Sensor

Now.. My O2 sensor has been setting my Check Engine Light off for the past hmm.. 3 months? Im not sure anymore but anyway.. To the question.

Is it ok for me to be lazy in changing this? Is it horrible to drive alot with a bad O2 sensor? Gas mileage seems to have not been as great

Being lazy and a procrastinator SUCKS

you can do it but your wallet will suffer with these gas prices. check out my o2 simulator thread in my sig below. $30 and like 30 minutes for no CEL

So do I actually need it? Does it have a purpose? I need to get my car inspected soon too.

I have a spare one on another engine which is sitting around.

ya it fine tunes the air/fuel mixture by telling the ECU how it the mixture is.

the primary o2 sensor is mostly responsible for the mixture though.

Alright, I am going to show my stupidness when it comes to this but I am pretty sure there are 2 O2 Sensors correct?

I know there is one where the Headers are. That is the main one? How do I know which one needs to be replaced?

you only have one header there EDIT: per engine ooops

have your ECU checked at autozone unless you have a code reader. bank 1 is the primary (one in header) bank 2 is secondary (in cat)
