ASR + Skunk2 LCA"s + Install Woes
Alright im having a dumb issue which is turning into a big issue and consuming far too much time for a simple suspension upgrade. Im installing an asr brace w/24mm asr sway and skunk 2 lca's. Everything went smoothly, lca's are on, brace is on. Problem is i for the life of me cannot find the PROPER bolts for these end links for the sway bar. The bolts that come with the end links are not nearly long enough to thread through the lca and back out the other side. Ive tried every local hardware store and even if i do find the right length bolt it isnt threaded all the way through and therefore useless to me, or ill find the right bolt but it wont be grade 8 or stronger. I simply cannot be the only person running an asr kit with skunk 2 lca's. So where did you buy your endlink bolt's from???
Ive emailed asr and they dont sell them with longer bolts', ive check online hardware sites and cannot every find the bolt in grade 8 and threaded all the way through. This is a stupid problem to have, but a problem thats kept the car on jack stands for nearly 2 weeks'.
Standard bolt that comes with the end link kit from ASR is
M10 with a 1.25 pitch and 50mm in length
For skunk2 lca's the bolt needs to be aprox 75mm in length, grade 8 or stronger and threaded the entire way.
Any help is appreciated'

I've got the exact same set up and my bolts do not go all the way through my lcas either they go like 3/4 of the way through and they have been like that for at least 3 months . Your right I thought they should be longer also but I have had no issues with mine since the install .The skunk 2 lcas are pretty thick and I think they will be fine or I would not run mine like they are if I thought it would be an issue !

or you are running the end links in front of the lca's while looking at them from the rear of the car?....if your running them this way i cant imagine it being a proper way to do things because then you have no locking nut on the other end of the lca' or provided washers/bearings, the only thing holding it together is 1 bolt and some threads which under enough stress would pull'???
im a bit confused by your response', so your not running a sway bar with endlinks?'

Well I just went out and looked at mine and yes they are in front of the lcas's and the bolts will tighten down and the sphereical end links will still pivot freely . Is this right? well thats what asr sent me and I have been running mine for a few thousand miles now without issue .I assume asr knows what they are doing when they sell the kits again mines been like that for a while and I have taken some serious turns in it and my bolts are have not bent or broken yet nor does there seem to be any issue with the threads in the lca s I may also like you prefer longer bolts with lock nuts but it is what it is and mines awesome one of the best mods I have done to the car so far !
unless i am completely mis-taken the bolt threads through the front and then through the end link behind the lca which also uses a locking nut behind the end link', i cant imagine running the end link through the front with only the threading from the lca holding it in place being very secure'
I think you may very well be completely mistaken then because my bolts go thru the end links in "front" of the lca then are threaded into the lca's with the threads from the lcas holding them in place like I said mine have been like this for a while and I have had no issue ! I dont even see how you would put the end links behind the lca it just dont seem right to do that ! the links would be bound twoard the rear of the car and would not be able to pivot properly nor do I think it would even be able to be done but I dont know as I don't think I tried to put them behind my lca's it just wouldnt even look right doing it that way if its even possible .

I don't have one of those brace things, but I'm using the Skunk2 LCA's on my race car. You're going to want to use a shoulder bolt that is atleast 10.9, however you could get away with 8. If you can't find it, hit me up we have those bolts. We use them with some of our mount kits. It's not an m10 bolt either, it's a 3/8" bolt.
