Default just got my first cb7

so i traded my single cam hatch for 1990 cb7 ex with a h22a1 with f22 trans and idk **** about h series lol it does not run cause the previous owner messed with the auto tensioner and could not put it back together. when he swaped the h22 out of his wrecked prelude it ran for 2 months in this accord b4 he messed with it also i got minty *** prelude seats.im lurkin every forum to find new info, but i like the engine its huge

now i was wondering can i remove that front crossmember and mount cause on b and d it dont got it. will it make the motor move too much
also wats the highest rpm a h22a1 bottom end will spin cause i want to build the head to turn to like 8000
any body can suggest good cams/cam gears
and a good header also retainers and valve springs do they make dual valve springs?s
the bumper is loose gotta love cb7's and there quick release bumpers
any help is repped

you need that crossmember. although there are aftermarket ones available which take up much less room with more adjustability. The H motor is a pretty common motor, you can get almost anything you want for that motor with lots of different options to meet every price range.

put a manual tensioner out of an F motor in it. Also, the cb7 bumper is far from quick to remove. My guess is your's isn't installed correctly. You "should" have to take off the front bumper support in order to remove the bumper.

you wont make much power in an H in the stock form past 7,000 rpm.I belive u actually loose power after 6,600. (need to check old dyno sheets) At least mine did not. too take advanvge of extra RPM you need cams, valve springs, valves, cam gears and properly deggre the cams to run overlap.

i use to turn my h22 8,500 no problems. Shift light set at 8,300 till it was wrecked.

It will stay open like that on it's own, as long as there isn't a strong wind blowing against it. It actually opens past the vertical. Doesn't touch the windshield or fenders. There are stop bumps on both hinges that only allow it to go so far. But it is far enough to stay up on it's own. Again this is not recommended in windy conditions. If you want something permanent look into whatever it is KRIS05VVTi suggested.
