Evacuating R134A
I want to discharge my AC compressor free of freon so I put in my new compressor. Called my local shops around here, and they charge $75-150.00 just to DISCHARGE the system! It has R134A in the system. Any suggestions on discharging it myself since it is enviromentally safe?
its illegal to do it yourself.
but
take two wrenches to fit on the big a/c hose going between the top of the engine and radiator. get a towel and after putting the wrenches in place make sure you get behind the towel and loosen her up. keep loosening til you hear some air start to spray out. thats the r134. once its sprayin out good throw the towel over the area and go inside and watch some family guy. once the spraying stops your done. a/c is empty

the refrigerant will irritate your skin, so just run for it after you get the r134 coming out. probably want to do it outside, because if in your garage, itll be all white like fog for a few minutes, then again, if your doing it outside, people will see, but wont know what youre doing though.
it's easier than that.......get a recarge kit for $10 and use the hose to discharge the system......that way you can point the other end away from you..........
