Default This block anygood?

Im looking to buy an extra GSR block for my new build. I found this block for a good deal but im not sure if its fixable. My plans were to have it bored .5mm over since I already have some wiseco 81.55 mm low comp pistons. Do u think that .5mm overbored would clean up the cylinder wall? What about the top of the sleeve? Your help is appreciated.

Depends how deep the gashes are as to if you can overbore it and deck it to clean it up right. Worst care scenario, it could always be sleeved.
If you can't fix the block and don't want to sleeve it, let me know, I'll buy it to sleeve.

if its cheap enough just buy it and bring it to the machine shop and see what they say if its no good and your going turbo get it sleeved if you can you might be able to get a better idea from members on here if you post this in the tech, turbo or all motor section depending on which direction your going with it.

it LOOKS fixable with a .020" overbore and at least .010 taken off the deck. you should measure the depth of the gouge and find out. decking the block will also fix the warpage they usually get with age.

once you bore it to those pistons and deck it, it should be fine.

guy wants $200 for it. Just wish I knew for sure if a .5mm overbore will fix it. How much can you deck the block before u mess up the piston to valve clearance?
