Would it be ok to boost a stock ITR on 5lbs?

you would have to lower the compression on it first

 

ya i know but some say its ok to run low boost but i just rebuilt the block

 

i wouldnt even boost it at all. high comp. motors are made for a reason and its not for boost

 

Its all in the tune, I have close to the same comp and have been at about 300 hp for 3 years. Go post in the fI section and you will get some better help from people who know what there talking about, and search.

 

jackson racing makes a sc kit for a type r at 5psi and u keep your stock ecu, my freind has it on his 2000 i would think the same as people are saying here but his car runs great and has for almost two years with no issues his best time was 13 flat

you can run boost on high comp. But higher comp requires higher octane. There is a guy around here with a boosted B20VTEC, he runs 115 Octane Race fuel on 16PSI from a gt35r i believe.
