Oil pressure light.....help!!
Ok I have a 96 integra gsr 125xxx on it. I put a clutch master in it then let it sit for a few days until I got to bleed it out. I go out and bleed the line and all sems well. I start the car up and I have an oil light on. My first thought was something chewed the wiring.... wires look fine from what I can see. So next thought I'll try the 10 dollar oil pressure switch put it in and start it up......still on!! Ok time to find out what is going on I hooked a gauge up to it and it reads 0 oil pressure. Now on mechanical gauges you only have to hook up the oil line to the gauge the eletrical part is only for the gauge lighting correct? I also changed the oil when all this happened and the filter had nothing in it. The engine didnt make any odd noises when I started it. So give me some thoughts were am I at. Oil pump junk? Thats what I'm thinking but really hoping it's not. Thanks in advance.
I doubt the oil filter went out, was it sitting for along time before you did the master cyl?
could you have possibly dented the oil pan or maybe put a very thick oil in or maybe just forgot to put oil in all together?

I'm not saying the filter went out, I'm saying that it is strange that there wasn't any oil coming out when I took it off. The car did sit for awhile before. And it is ful of new 5-30 now.
Thats kinda what I'm thinking but wierd hat it went out when I parked it for a couple days. I hoping thats not it I'm trying to sell the car now and dont have the money to do all that.
Thats what I was thinking also, just hoping there mite be something else I could try first or that I didn't think of. I really hate to spend all that money , but I am trying to sell it so I guess i don't have much of a choice I won't get nearly what it's worth selling it with a bad oil pump.

Is there any chance it could be a bearing problem?Even if a bearing was getting ready to spin I would still have some oil pressure rite? A guy at work brought that up but if it was just bearing wear I would think that I would still have atleast some oil pressure not 0 oil pressure. And that fact that there was nothing in the filter.
yeah it has to be the pump or the pick up casue to get to the bearings u need to go through the filter. i would say drain the oil and clean the pick up, maybe pull i off and blow it out with some air. then try again.
Back fom the dead here. UPDATE:: I pulled the pan down, no metal at all so I'm glad to see the bearings seem to be alrite. Pulled the pick up off and it's fine not cloged dirty at all. Pulled the pump off, cracked the casing and what do I find......Groves and scarring in the gears, and the pump housing under the gears. The idea I have now is that something went through the pump, It would have to to leave scars like that. This would also very likely throw the gear mesh off hense the 0 oil pressure. Now what I'm wondering is where do I go from here? In theory whatever went through the pump has to be in the block somewhere rite? What should I do? Rip the whole thing down to find out what it is? Im worried it could casue a clog and starve oil pressure if I just put a new pump on it without finding whatever went through the pump. Give me some input guys, and once again thanks for the help.
ouch, well ideally you would tear it down and clear all of the oil passengers with brake or carb cleaner... but, theoretically it would have been stopped at the oil filter. what i would do is remove the oil pump and oil filter, and spray cleaner into the oil filter location and flush everything out towards the oil pump location. make sure you get everything and then put on a new pump and filter. before you put on the pump, prime it with some oil into both ports, maybe spin it with your finger a little bit. put on the oil pan with some sealant. it may also be worth your while to take off the VC and pour a qt of oil evenly over the whole valve train, since im sure it will be a little dry. then, pull the coil wire for the dizzy and crank it over a few times to help prime the system. then reconnect the dizzy and fire it up.
Hope that helps
