Default 92-95 civic hb rear wiper motor question

I just picked up a 95 si hb. the rear wiper motor comes on, but doesnt rotate. I took apart the motor (removed rear backing plate) and discovered the following.

if you havent seen the inside of one of these motors, I will try to describe it as best as i can....

there are 3 "gears" inside. gear 1 (plastic, largest gear) spins with the switch being turned on. this gear has a metal peg on it.

gear 2 is a medium sized metal gear which SHOULD be attached to gear1. gear1 spins with the motor, which in turn, spins gear2 which is joined to gear3. gear3 connects through the hatch window and to the wiper arm.

whatever attaches gear1 to gear2 is missing. what i am hoping for is someone here to either know what attaches them, or someone that has a motor laying around that can take it apart and either send me pics or tell me whats there. thanks for the help and sorry for the long post.

Look on Majestic Honda if they have the part you need. If they don't, you will have to replace the whole motor.

it may not be the motor. it may be that the nut on the outside of the wiper is loose. just take the small black plastic cover off and tighten the nut, should be an 8/9 mm. dont over tighten though, it will break the glass

its not a malfunction with anything, its a missing piece inside. nothing to do with the nut that holds the arm down.

no problem. local yard doesnt have any in stock. buying a complete motor off craigslist today. i will post the answer to the mystery later. looks like at least one other person has the same issue, so maybe more do, as well.
