Default feeler gauge question

doing a valve adjustment, should the feeler gauge be inserted between the cam lobe and lifter at an angle ? or should it go in straight? because it makes a difference, thats why im asking.

It should go in straight. There's really only one way to do it.

The feeler gauge blades I use for valve adjustment are bent on the ends so that I can get them in there straight between the lobe and the rocker arm pad.
