My kid brothers DA keeps poping out of 5th gear while on the hwy.

His clutch still grabs very well.

At first I thought it was his short shifter, so I replaced it with OEM shifter... but still has the same problem....


What do you think it is?

 

it's most likely the synchros in fifth.

 

Check your tranny fluid, mine popped out when there was a leak.

But if it's pops out of 5th gear why doesn't it pop out of all of the other gears 1-2-3-4?
How much fluids does a LS tranny take? .... 2 quarts...2.5 qarts?

hum... I would of never thought that, because most of the cars that have sycro issues are hard to shift in/out of....

His tranny still shifts like butter....
Do you think i should try the GM syncromesh stuff.... hehe

 

i suggest seeing if you can find another tranny for cheap

 

That's what I'm using.

Check the fluid level. I've never had this particular problem, but from what I've read, it usually indicates low fluid.

100% it is low on fluid. I had the same problem last year.

 

im having the same problem with my tranny! i hope its the fluid. i just got that thing off hmo

 

Most likely the tranny fluid is low. Happened to lots of people I know.
