how can you tell when your motor mounts are bad?
i got a hatch with a b16 in it but i want to know is how or what noises do you hear so you can tell when your motor mounts go bad. i would like to know? i know beside movement what noises can it make to determine if its bad.
Should just be able to visually inspect them and determine. For example on mine, My Driver side lower motor mount was Blown out... I got under the car and looked and there was no rubber left inside the motor mount.
Or if they'r like mine the motor will hit the hood on hard shifts :/ New mounts are on their way tho.
But usually you can visually inspect them for cracks or missing rubber. Or if you've rcently develposed some really bad wheel hop. Also a problem of mine now.

There are two ways a motor mount can really go bad,
1. Crack in the rubber
2. Damaged bolts ( *RARE* only happens to race cars, unless your pushing 1200 hp +)
I recently broke a motor mount and I will post pictures up of what you should look for!
