Is my gsr block salvageable
Just a few weeks ago i spun a rod bearing. So upon taking off my oil pan to inspect it i found tiny bits of copper shavings from the bearing. I know for sure my crank is done on the journal on cylinder 2 but i wanted to see know if my block was still salvageable, if not i was planning on picking up an itr block. But i don't want to spend money, so if its worth fixing please give me some input... also in the first two pics its right above the crankshaft at bdc on cylinder 2

edit: sorry for the blurry pics, i am not accessible to a decent camera, so i used my phone camera.

yea i thought about the ls crank. but most likely im debating about eagle, itr, or gsr crank. but my main question is in the first 2 pictures. is my block still usable or would it be safer to get a new one?
Your block is still going to be good. Just make sure you get your clearances correct with the new crank and bearings so you won't have to do it again
Your phone takes alright pics though

looks like your rod hit the bottom of the sleeve. same thing happened to my block when the rod spun. took it to a machine shop they bored it .5 over, new pistons rods and she was tip top. you'll probably want a new oil pump aswell because of the shavings.

the only reason id bore it is to freshen the motor up and debur those bottom cylinder scars. not too sure what your cylinders look like. but for under a grand (pistons, rods, crank etc..), to have a rebuilt motor seems like a good idea to me. im sure you could go the cheap route an do half of those things and make it work. but i like doing things the right way the first time.
