Default tranny problems

i bought an ex tranny from a 95 for my 97 dx. i installed it but when i go to move it in first gear, it pops out and grinds immediately. and its pretty hard to even engage it in reverse, it just grinds but sometimes goes in for a second. but the wierd thing is when me and my friends where pushing it in neutral it would make a clunk noise and try to kick into gear? even with the clutch pushed down. so i had too put it in first gear too move it and you could hear something like ticking or clicking trying to catch like maybe and axle or something. im stumped. any help would be appreciated. thanks

I would take out the tranny and redone again probably you didn't align the disc good enough that's why its does that. I have that in the past which won't go into gears or keep pop out. If we don't have the right tool to align, there will be a problem shift into gear. Hope its help...that's my experienced.

not sure bout the 92-95 but try to find a used tranny, rebuilding your tranny might cost you more than getting a used one.if you can find a used one i could install it for $200 let me know.

Works perfectly fine. I use a 92-95 EX tranny in my 96 hatch. Thats not your problem. You however need to pull the tranny and split the case and find out what the problem is. If you don't feel comfortable doing so, then either find someone who does or find another tranny. If you weren't in the bay area I would offer my services to you to fix your problem.

i dont live in the bay, even tho im in san mateo for a work trip this week lol. i live above sac by placerville. ive swapped the tranny in in my front yard in the dirt. it was a bitch. so mainly the reason why i dont wanna do it is i have no safe place to jack it up.

I live by Marysville. If you are interested in some help, let me know. I am more then fair for labor rates, but I can't work for free if you know what I mean. Let me know in PM either way.

Did you test it out before you put it on? If everything checked out, it may be a good chance is clutch, pressure plate related.

From what I have read this is more of an internal issue then a clutch issue.
